Watch Over Me - Scheme of work
PSE CITIZENSHIP YEAR 11 (2005)
With special thanks to Anna Baker, Friars Secondary School, Bangor, North Wales for providing a scheme of work Watch Over Me II. Anna has been sucessfully using the first series of "Watch Over Me" and kindly agreed to share her work with other teachers who may now be planning lessons for the second series.
"I have put together this module of work for year 11 pupils. The module follows the unit of work created by MissDorothy.Com and focuses on issues relating to personal safety. Watch Over Me II is a complete resource. You will find that there are plenty of tasks for one lesson within each unit. You may find that you will not get through all the tasks in one lesson and some may be used for either homework or extension/independent learning activities. This module is to be led by the teacher and please be aware that some of the issues raised in it may be particularly relevant to some of the students and therefore you may find that you need to re enforce the importance of being sensitive towards each other. You may also find that the pupils enjoy or are gaining significant personal development from a specific area within the module. If this is the case, feel free to explore that area in more depth. You may wish to read through the pack thoroughly before using it, as there are a number of additional lessons. These can be used dependant on the class. I hope you enjoy teaching this modular subject and find it a worthwhile and rewarding experience! "
